Getting clear on where you’re headed is really important because the job of your brand is to help you meet your goals.

What do you WANT?

We already looked at what the whole point is, the motivation to make things happen, the reason you chose this thing – this is about what you want to achieve whilst doing THAT so you can ensure your brand supports you on your journey.

This is the bit where you get to dream about what success means to you – having more time, making more money, changing something through your work, providing employment for lovely people, making a difference, upgrading your work space, having a better life, working with a certain person or company, walking in the hills every Wednesday, sending your kids to private school, saving for your early retirement, speaking on stages, signing books, changing legislation, owning your own paddock full of sheep, buying a swanky car, featuring in a specific magazine, travelling the world… you might want to do all of that, some of it, none of it.

This is YOUR future.

What do you want it to look like?

Today: Write yourself a letter from Future You. Choose when – a date that works for you, five or ten years down the line. Get emotional about it. This is exciting! Because you can’t make this stuff happen if you don’t know what you want. You need to know where you want to be. How you want your future to look – and then your brand can help you get there.
