On Sunday we went to Cafe Church – which is like church, but with tables and chairs, tea and coffee and craft, aimed at families. Great for kids 🙂 The story this week was about Saul – who wasn’t a very nice guy but God had other plans for him and he has a dramatic conversion and spends the rest of his life teaching people about Jesus.  The craft was to make a caterpillar that would become a butterfly, because Saul became something much better and more amazing than he’d been before.

I’m sure you’ve all read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. You know how the caterpillar appears small and insignificant, then it eats more food than you’d think it would ever manage and turns into a beautiful butterfly.

Maybe this is your business? Maybe you are a fantastic business but you look small and insignificant like a caterpillar. No one would look twice at you – you need to become a beautiful butterfly – something much better and more amazing than you were before.

What if instead of eating all that food, you got hungry for improvement and you looked hard at your business and thought about:

– your message

– your audience

– your values

– your personality

– how you want people to feel when they think about your business

– what your strengths are

– what’s important to you about the way you run your business

– why people should choose to work with you

and then you can think about things like which fonts to use, which colours suit your business, which imagery will communicate your values and stay true to what you do?

This will help you to build a brand that is as beautiful as a butterfly, that makes people go “wow” and stop to look at you – maybe even just long enough to take action and become a client. (Tweet this)
