My confidence is SO much better than it used to be. I’ve been working on that – stepping out of my comfort zone, giving myself a good talking to and preparing as much as I can so that I am always ready for the next thing. Yesterday I attended a networking event where the subject was confidence, we went around the room to give out our tips – here they are!
Do you have any tips to add that help you build your confidence?
- Twitter has only 140 characters. It’s easy to say something there to build your confidence.
- Do what you’re good at.
- Everyone is the same.
- Prepare.
- The worst someone its going to say to you is no.
- Say “we” instead of “I” – this removes the focus from you – and also gives other people more confidence in you too.
- Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
- Just do it. Face your fears. The more you do this the more confident you will feel.
- Watch tutorials on YouTube to help you with things you’re worried about. Ie. for presentations.
- Research. Know your subject thoroughly and find out as much as you can about your potential client.
- Watch motivational videos. You can find these on YouTube. For example – The Secret.
- Do positive self talk.
- Work on yourself. Listen to something positive every morning.
- Be happy, be hopeful, be grateful.
- Don’t tell anyone they’re too confident. This could be very damaging.
- Have a step by step process so that if you’re not feeling confident you have something you can follow.
- Affirmations and mirror talk are great.
- Use meditation. Examples are on YouTube – The Honest Guys and Jessica Mullen.
- Listen to inspiring music, watch inspiring films, read inspiring books – such as the ones by Michelle Mone and The Innocent Smoothie guys.
- Use Bach Rescue Remedy. You can have your own remedy made up, or use larch for self confidence.
