The other day, my daughter and I ended up at the Beach and she wanted to fly her kite. She was having a lovely time, even though the wind wasn’t all that strong. she was happy dragging it behind her all over the place.

If you think of your brand like a kite – flying high in the sky where people can see it and making people crane their necks to see it – what would you want your kite to say about your business? What message are you wanting to give out? What impression do you want people to have?

The kite won’t stay up in the air without wind. So what do you use to keep your kite up? How do you make sure it doesn’t fall back down onto the beach?

My kite is all about consistent, effective branding. To keep it up – to create “wind” so my kite will stay up in the sky –  there’s several things I do which are:

– I blog

– I make videos

– I use social media

– I send out an email newsletter

– I go to networking events

– I get referrals

– I write articles

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the things that can be done to keep your kite flying high.

I’ve created a worksheet for you, which I hope will help. You can download it below. Pop your message – the impression you want people to have of your business – in the kite and then where the wind is list ways to keep the wind blowing so that your message is kept high up where people can see it.
