Recently we met some friends and went scootering. Well the kids did, us grown ups walked.

Scootering is not something that we usually do. So much so that I decided I needed to get helmets for my kids on the way there as the scooters rarely leave the garden. My sons is red and my daughters is lilac. She loves hers. She wore it the whole time we were scootering, while she was eating her chocolate ice-cream – and then we went back to our friends house and she wore it all afternoon, on the journey back home and right up until dinnertime.

I imagine there will now be lots of scootering requests and this will now be a Thing We Do. Which is fine by me – although I think I’d better replace the beautiful old wooden scooter my son rides with a faster less aesthetically pleasing one “with rocket boosters” apparently…

Sometimes it’s good to try new things. To go somewhere different, to try a new activity, to go further, to push yourself on a new route.

Stepping out of your comfort zone means you stretch yourself and push yourself further. This is good. Do it. You don’t have to go very far. Just go a little way and then next time go a little further again.

There’s an AMAZING Personal Brand Summit coming up soon – a 6 day online event packed full of incredible strategies for building, growing and scaling a profitable personal brand with incredible people including Kimra Luna, Navid Moazzez, Amanda Goldman Petri, Andrew & Pete, Christina Jandali… and me!

During my session I talk about putting YOU in your business which has got to be one of the scariest out-of-my-comfort-zone totally worthwhile things that I’ve ever done.

It was like getting a scooter with rocket boosters.

Putting me in my business started with networking, then storytelling, then video, then photographs, then lives. And it was scary. I didn’t find the storytelling scary – I’m doing that right now (scootering) and it’s easy, it’s just talking about my kids and my life – but the video and photographs and lives I really did. I was so nervous. The same when I started networking (well that still makes me nervous if it’s something new!) Putting YOU in your business can be terrifying because we all just want to be liked don’t we? We all have hang ups about ourselves and we just don’t want to do it. We don’t like how we look or how we sound or we don’t want to come across as stupid or we make any other excuse.

Well I’ve done lives with horrific hair. I’ve shared photographs where I look stupid. I’ve not worn makeup. I’ve been interrupted by children during lives, or delivered them whilst one of them was asleep in the back of the car and could wake up any moment. I’ve had bad lighting. I’ve had tech problems. I’ve likely recorded videos with something icky on my jumper (thanks kids!). I’ve lost my train of thought. I’ve had sneezing fits. I’ve had to go and answer the door to get a parcel. I’ve done lives when I had eczema all over my face so that it was swollen right up (and lots of make up on top of that, sitting as far away from the screen as I could..) and you know what? The world didn’t end. In fact, the live where my cat and then my son interrupted me was actually the most profitable live I’ve ever done! People don’t care. They get to see behind the scenes and they love that.

Doing the session for the Profitable Personal Brand Summit was out of my comfort zone as I am much more used to being the host than the hosted, so I was a bit nervous to begin with – but that didn’t last long and now I would totally do it again.

I’d love you to grab your free ticket to go and watch the summit. There are 39+ Personal Brand Experts sharing their stuff AND you get a playbook giving you the full schedule for the 6 days as well as loads of useful, actionable, handy advice to get you going. My session is at 11am on the 13th May 2019 – but there’s so so many other incredible people sharing their info, you don’t want to miss thisand it’s free!

The ticket and the playbook are free – you get 24 hours to watch each session – but if you choose to upgrade to the all-access-pass so you can watch the sessions at any time, then I’ll also give you a free ticket to my Brand Masterclass (and I’ll receive an affiliate commission. Win win!)

Click here to get your free ticket and the Playbook!

I also have four all access passes to give away! All you have to do is sign up at the above link and the winners will be selected during the kick off party.
